The cork is what remains when we have forgotten everything

A new exhibition will be held from Friday December 4 at the Hublot café (17 Rue Paul Bert – 13100 Aix-en-Provence) on the theme of corks. The opening will take place there from 7 p.m. and will be followed by a concert.

Art comes out of the cellar, because the paintings will be in full light! The cork is the central theme of this presentation, a symbol of lightness, thanks to its material, cork, which floats with the waves. The cork is the heralding sign of the party, which we leave on a tablecloth, but which we keep in a jar like a trophy…

The corks presented are proud, like portraits. Each one has its own personality, its terroir, even the cork of the bottle in the sea, battered by the elements, but still standing!

But in this exhibition, beyond the purely static presentation, the corks come out of their balance to move in an allegory of the modern world. The fragility of today’s world boils down to an unstable and precarious balance where everything can be called into question from one day to the next…

The exhibition is held at Café le Hublot – 17 Rue Paul Bert – 13100 Aix-en-Provence, in the city center near Place de la Mairie, during the month of December.
